Does Apple Health have a Wrapped or Year in Review?

Apple Health does not have a built-in Wrapped or Year in Review feature. Fitness Wrapped adds shareable stories, weekly and monthly matchups, and private progress views from Apple Health data.

Do I need an Apple Watch to use Fitness Wrapped?

No. Apple Watch is optional. Fitness Wrapped works with Apple Health data from iPhone and compatible apps or connected devices, as long as the data syncs to Apple Health and you grant permission.

Is Fitness Wrapped free?

Yes. Fitness Wrapped is free to download. Pro unlocks more stories, full history, widgets, themes, goal tools, and unlimited matchups.

Is my health data private?

Your Apple Health history is read with your permission. Matchups only use the summary stats needed for that competition, and only matchup participants can see them.

Data Collection

Fitness Wrapped processes your Apple Fitness data only when you explicitly grant permission through the app. We collect certain information to provide and improve our services to you.

Analytics and Log Data

We use third-party services such as Firebase Analytics to collect anonymous data about app usage and behavior. This may include:

Device's Internet Protocol ("IP") address
Device name and operating system version
App configuration details
Time and date of service usage
Usage statistics and patterns

This information is collected to improve the functionality and user experience of our app.

Device Tokens

We collect device tokens to send you push notifications about your fitness achievements and updates. These tokens are necessary to deliver relevant notifications and are not used for any other purpose.

Data Processing

Your Apple Health data is processed locally on your device. Your wraps, workout recaps, and stats are generated entirely on-device, and your raw health data — workouts, GPS routes, heart rate, and health records — is never uploaded to our servers. The only exception is the optional Matchups feature described below, which uploads summary activity stats when you explicitly choose to compete with friends.

Matchups & Social Features

Matchups let you compete with friends over a set period. Because your friends need to see your progress, this feature stores some data on our servers. Nothing is uploaded unless you create or accept a matchup. When you do, we collect and store:

An account identifier, created when you sign in (managed by Firebase Authentication)
The display name and avatar you choose for your profile
Your friend connections and the matchups you participate in
Summary activity stats for the matchup period only: workout counts and duration, distance, calories, daily steps and active time, streaks, top workout type, and goal progress

We do not upload raw workout data, GPS routes, heart rate, or any other health records — only the aggregate stats listed above, limited to the dates of matchups you join. This data is never used for advertising, marketing, or data mining, and is never sold or shared with third parties other than Google Firebase, which hosts the feature on our behalf.

Who can see it: your matchup stats are visible to the other participants of that matchup. If you share a matchup invite link, anyone with the link can see the matchup's name and your first name in the link preview.

Where it's stored: matchup data is stored in Google Cloud Firestore (part of Google Firebase), encrypted in transit and at rest, and protected by access rules so only matchup participants can read each other's stats.

Deletion: you can delete individual matchups in the app, and deleting your account permanently removes your profile, friend connections, matchups, and invites from our servers.
